Ficus religiosa is one of the easiest Ficus species to propagate vegetatively. It can be easily be grown by rooting cuttings in water or soil. Air layering can be done to root thick branches for Bonsai. In its native region, the Ficus Religiosa is believed to germinate only when its seed has been ingested by a bird and then excreted.
