YUNGBLUD

Strawberry lipsticks seem to be making an entrance into music with ‘strawberry lipstick state of mind’ in Harry Style’s 2019 hit “ “Strawberry Lipstick” is expected to be part of YUNGBLUD’s highly anticipated second studio album. This is the follow-up to his debut studio album ’21st Century Liability’ released in 2018. “Straberry Lipstick” Lyrics Meaning and Song Review Intro The first line of the song explains what the song is about. It is about his current relationship–a girl with whom he is madly in love with, and she in return. She has a fiesty personality, which seems to be a little too high-octane even for the madness level of YUNGBLUD. The latest contender for this song’s recipient, who also fits the profile, is singer Halsey, with whom YUNGBLUD had a Verse 1 In the first verse of “Strawberry Lipstick,” the singer talks about his “toxic” personality which makes him very difficult to date. He admits to having very little self-control, and in need of a good cleansing to clean his soul. ‘Coming out of the closet’ is a phrase used to reference someone revealing their identity as LGBTQ+. YUNGBLUD seems to infer that no matter his gender identity, this girl makes him want to be straight. Her fingers in his mouth, and him kneeling infront of her, draws a very clear picture of how the singer is completely out of self-control with this girl. Chorus In the hook of the song, we hear the singer begging this girl to go easy on him. Presumably, this girl could even get this guy j...

Watch Harry Styles's "Adore You" Music Video

When I say it's a busy time in Harry Styles land, I'm seriously not joking. On Dec. 6, Styles dropped his latest song, "Adore You," from his Fine Line, but not just with a regular old music video. Nah, Styles came at us with a whole other world called Eroda and a short film about the place to accompany the song. In the more-than-seven-minute video narrated by singer Rosalía, Styles flexes his acting chops as a peculiar boy on a small island shaped like a frown. It's a cloudy, sad place that doesn't know what to make of this boy who wants to smile. The boy is forced to bottle up his emotions until he reaches the point where he can't go on. And as we watch Styles walk out into the ocean with rocks in his pocket, the voiceover says, "Loneliness is an ocean full of travelers trying to find their place in the world, but without friendship, we are all lost and left with no hope, no home, no harbor." "Loneliness is an ocean full of travelers trying to find their place in the world, but without friendship, we are all lost and left with no hope, no home, no harbor." But then! A fish! A peculiar jewel-coat fish leaps from the water and bonds with the peculiar boy because they're both different. And this is where the video really just reels you in. Styles takes his fishy friend everywhere with him — in a coffee pot, in a clear backpack, in a fish tank on the back of his bike — and they quickly become the best of friends. Don't even get me started on the tiny taco he made for the fish...

Harry Styles ‘Fine Line’ Review: The Album Eschews Boundaries for Youthful Self

In a recent Fine Line, he’s achieved his goal. Invoking the highs and lows of youth, from intoxicating sexual encounters to wrecked relationships to long nights spent dancing with friends, the album sees Styles sifting through genres like clothes in a fabulous wardrobe, trying things on for size to see what fits. The opening track, “Golden,” is a shimmering statement of intent. Subtle, dampened piano chords give way at Styles’s signal—a single “hey!”—like a curtain pulled back, revealing a full band in all its sparkling glory. It’s a song made for long coastal drives, and it sets the tone for a series of deeply sensory tracks. Taste and touch are central to the hyper-sensual “Watermelon Sugar,” in which Styles describes a sexual encounter in terms of sweet fruits and summer nights, building to an ecstatic, horn-filled climax. And on “Adore You,” he finds himself in a “strawberry lipstick state of mind” as he imagines “brown skin and lemon over ice.” The Technicolor world conjured in Styles’s lyrics is made all the more vivid by Fine Line’s lush production, which makes the influence of the ’60s music scene in Laurel Canyon easily traceable throughout. The somber harmonies on the gorgeous breakup track “Cherry” seem directly descended from those of Crosby, Stills & Nash, while the lush “Sunflower, Vol. 6” takes its cue as much from the 5th Dimension as it does Vampire Weekend. “Canyon Moon,” with its warm bassline, peppy handclaps, and winding, narrative lyrics, could easily...
