BRS will bag 90

Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday spoke on a wide range of issues in a meeting with journalists at the Secretariat and claimed that the BRS will win around 90-100 seats in the upcoming state Assembly elections to form the government for the third time. Speaking at the conference, he said, “With just 3 seats in the Assembly, BJP is close to non-existent in Telangana. We will win Dubbaka, Ghosha Mahal and Huzurabad this term and there is no situation where the Congress party can compete with us in the state. The Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi will come back to power and we will easily win 90 to 100 seats. Once again our leader KCR will become the Chief Minister.” “Telangana State has worked according to the slogan water, funds and recruitment in the last 10 years. It was successful and achieved comprehensive, integrated and balanced development. Rural development, urban development, upper classes, depressed classes, there is inclusive development without any distinction,” he added. Talking about Asaduddin Owaisi’s latest remarks of BRS taking AIMIM for granted, he said, “We are not taking him for granted. The same MP goes to UP and praises our welfare model here. So which Owaisi do we believe? Owaisi ji should strategise his vote-bank. Only few sections of minority vote for the AIMIM.” Addressing the issue of delimitation, he said, “Let all the regional and national parties have a debate on whether delimitation should be done or not. South Indian states should decide.”

Bandi Sanjay vs Eatala Rajender: Power struggle sub

By T S Sudhir: On Tuesday, the BJP Telangana state executive acquired a jumbo character. It was expanded from 80 to 205 members. The move was seen as an attempt to appease both the newcomers and old-timers in the party who had been cribbing about not getting the importance they thought they deserved in the party hierarchy. The move had its roots in the ongoing friction within the state unit. Over the past few weeks, Eatala Rajender, who joined the BJP after his expulsion from the Bharata Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and subsequently won a hard-fought byelection in Huzurabad in November 2021, has been rooting for a promotion within the party. Rajender reportedly feels that the Mamata Banerjee vs Suvendu Adhikari template is what the BJP needs in Telangana. Adhikari had scored an upset win over Mamata Banerjee in the Nandigram assembly constituency in the 2021 elections, forcing her to subsequently get elected in a forced bypoll. Rajender, who had served as Finance and Health minister under chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and is now anathema to the BRS supremo, feels the optics of a one-time close compatriot taking on KCR across Telangana would serve the BJP well. While Rajender does not discount the work done by Sanjay who, by sheer tenacity and pugnacious attitude, has brought the BJP to where it is now, his team believes Rajender is the man the party needs to gain more traction and mileage.
