(Twitter/ANI) Jailed gangster Tillu Tajpuriya, an accused in the Rohini court shootout case, was killed after being attacked by rival gang members Yogesh Tunda and others in Delhi's Tihar jail. The gruesome murder was According to a police official, Yogesh alias Tunda and Deepak alias Teetar had attacked Tajpuriya by breaking the iron grills of the ward which separated both the gangs in the same ward. They used bed sheets to climb down to Tajpuriya's ground-floor ward from the first floor around 6.15 am and attacked him. Tajpuriya, 33, was the mastermind behind the killing of Delhi's dreaded gangster Gogi, who was shot inside Rohini court premises in 2021. Gogi had come to court for hearing when he was shot dead by two gunmen. The assailants were members of the Tillu gang and were shot dead by the police team. After his murder, Tajpuriya had been lodged at a ground floor ward and was facing a life threat. He was aresident of Tajpur village near Alipur in Delhi. Tajpuriya was arrested in 2016 for multiple crimes and since then had been in jail.

NEW DELHI: Close on the heels of the arrest of gangster Deepak Boxer, Delhi Police's special cell has arrested 14 members of his gang involved in several murder and extortion cases in the city in the last two years. Among those arrested is Yogesh Tunda, who, along with his three associates, murdered arch rival Sunil Tajpuria inside Tihar jail last Tuesday. Incidentally, Boxer returned to Tihar jail on Sunday after his police remand got over. Besides Tunda, he was now the prime target for Tajpuria gang and the affiliates comprising Naveen Bali, Neeraj Bawana and Amit Dabang, among others, sources said. With these arrests, spanning over the last one-and-a-half months, the police claimed to have solved over two dozen cases of murder and extortion. Boxer was brought back from Mexico on April 5 and booked under MCOCA. The same stringent law has been applied to his associates too. Among those arrested are two men - Mehfooz Khan alias Bhura Dalal (47) and Junaid (25) from UP's Moradabad - who allegedly helped Boxer get a fake passport and other forged documents to flee aboard. The duo had facilitated Boxer in getting the fake passport and other documents in the name of Ravi Antil, a resident of Moradabad. On their instance, 15 passports, seven Aadhaar cards, as many PAN cards and six voter ID cards were recovered, police said. Gangster Tilu Tajpuria lodged inside Tihar in connection with Delhi court shoot

New Delhi: Tillu Tajpuriya, an accused in a shoot-out at the Rohini court complex, was killed Tuesday in an an attack by four inmates said to be from a rival gang inside the high-risk ward of Tihar jail, prison officials said. The attackers, involved with the Gogi gang, used an improvised weapon that was made by cutting open an iron grill installed on the first floor of the ward, the officials said. Tajpuriya was taken to Delhi’s Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital at around 6.45am. He was declared dead at the hospital after getting first aid at the jail complex, the officials added.

"This morning around 7 am, information was received from DDU Hospital regarding two Undertrial prisoners who were brought to the hospital from Tihar Jail. One of them, Sunil alias Tilu was brought into an unconscious state. He was declared brought dead later. He was the prime conspirator in Delhi’s 2021 Rohini Court shootout in which gangster Jitender Gogi was killed. The preliminary autopsy report said the body had 92 wound marks. Tillu Tajpuriya, alias Sunil Mann, was thrashed with sharp-edged weapons allegedly by gangster Yogesh Tunda and his aides in the high-security prison, officials said. He was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where he was declared dead, according to reports. Another prisoner, Rohit, was also injured in the attack. He is said to be out of danger now. Yogesh Tunda, Deepak Teetar, Riyaj Khan and Rajesh, broke the iron grills of their ward on the first floor of the prison. They attacked Tillu, who had been kept in a ground floor ward with his other gang members, with the same rods. The four members of the rival Gogi gang used bedsheets to climb down to the ground floor, NDTV reported quoting police. In September 2021, two members of the Tillu gang, dressed as lawyers, shot dead Jitender Gogi inside the Rohini court. Both were then killed in retaliatory firing by the police. “Two men dressed as lawyers opened fire at Jitender Gogi inside the court. That’s when police retaliated and killed those two assailants. It’s not a gang war,” police had told NDTV.
