NIRF overall rankings 2022: 8 UP institutes among top 100 in India

Eight higher educational institutes from Uttar Pradesh made it to the list of top 100 Indian institutes in the overall category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings-2022 released by the ministry of education on Friday. Two institutions from Lucknow which made it to the list are KGMU and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU). As per the rankings, the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur retained its 5th rank, Banaras Hindu University 11th, Aligarh Muslim University 19th, IIT-BHU 29th while Amity University (a private university) in Gautam Buddh Nagar got 42nd rank. Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and IIT- BHU slipped by one position as compared to their last year's rankings. King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow ranked 75th. Last year, it was on 60th place. By India Today Web Desk: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan released the NIRF Ranking 2022 on July 15, at 11 am, listing the top institutes and universities in India this year. The education minister went live from YouTube and Twitter to announce the seventh edition of the rankings of top institutes of India. The top two institutes remain the same as last year in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). IIT Madras has topped the ‘Overall’ NIRF Rankings for the fourth year running while the second and third spots in the same category have been taken by IISc Bengaluru and IIT Bombay respectively. Top 10 Universities in India The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has been again adjudged as the best university in the country in the NIRF 2023 national ranking while Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has become the second best university in India. NIRF: AMU jumps two places to be placed 9th

The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) climbed two places to get to 9th rank in the universities category, in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 listings, released on Monday by the ministry of education, government of India. The AMU campus in Aligarh (HT File Photo) AMU got the 11th rank last year, stated the press statement issued by the public relations office of the AMU, on Monday. In the research category, AMU jumped five places to get the 23 rank this year, compared to the last year, when AMU got rank 28, said Prof M Salim Beg, chairman, committee for ranking of the university, AMU, a press statement read. In the engineering category, AMU moved up five spots to get rank 32 this year, compared to last year, when AMU got rank 37. In the architecture, dental and management categories/disciplines, AMU got 9th, 31st and 55th and rank, while in the law and medical disciplines AMU got 14th and 28th rank. Congratulating the staff and students of AMU, vice-chancellor Prof Mohammad Gulrez said “it is a matter of great pride that the University has significantly improved its overall ranking in the NIRF-2023, which reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment of the staff and students”.
