Tulsidas ( Hindi pronunciation: [tʊlsiːdaːs]; born Rambola Dubey; also known as Goswami Tulsidas; [3] 13 August 1497 [4] –30 July 1623) was a Ramanandi Vaishnava Hindu saint and poet, renowned for his devotion to the deity Rama.

Tulsidas claims to have received the story through his guru, Narharidas.Tulsidas was a naive (Acheta) child and the story was stored in his mind (Mānasa) for long before he wrote it down as Ramcharitmanas. Some understand this passage of the Ramcharitmanas to mean that Tulsidas at first could not grasp the story fully as he was a naïve young.

रहीम का पूरा नाम अब्दुल रहीम (अब्दुर्रहीम) ख़ानख़ाना था। आपका जन्म 17 दिसम्बर 1556 को लाहौर (अब पाकिस्तान) में हुआ। रहीम के पिता का नाम बैरम खान तथा माता का नाम सुल्ताना बेगम था, जो एक कवियित्री थी। उनके पिता बैरम ख़ाँ मुगल बादशाह अकबर के संरक्षक थे। कहा जाता है कि रहीम का नामकरण अकबर ने ही किया था।
